I reently purchased a Dell Xps 1530. the first few times used it automatically connected to the internet. Now, it seems to only connect locally and I do not get internet access. Ive tried restarting in hopes it would correct itself, which worked once but others time not. Sometimes if I wait about 10 minutes or so it will suddenly connect. The signal strength is always high. Does anyone know what could be causing this. I though possibly Trend Micro but I think that is set up correctly. Thanks for any advice.

Can you please elaborate your expression; "Now, it seems to only connect locally and I do not get internet access", thanks.

When you say connect locally, are you getting a private IP address (169.x.x.x) or a 192.x.x.x address? Is your computer hooked to a router wirelessly or wired? or is it straight through to a DSL/cable modem?

You mentioned Trend Micro. I don't use Trend Micro but I assume it has a firwall. Turn it off and see what happens?

The problem could also be in the ISP side, call them.
