Hey guys,
Our dlink router started giving me problems, so we bought a netgear wireless n router, the wnr2000. All of our macs, our lenovo lappy, and one desktop using a wireless g linksys adapter are working. The other two desktops aren't. Both use the wireless adapter (G) that the other desktop uses. On my computer, the status goes from aquiring network address to connecting (or just automatic) and back and forth. The other desktop just won't do anything, windows gives a "sorry we can't connect" error.
Help would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the poor grammar, this netbook is very hard to type on!!

Without knowing what your Router and Adapter settings are, it's tough to give you any advice, but as a general rule, when using mixed network devices (N, G, A, B, etc.) you always use 20mhz for the Radio band and Mixed for the mode. Only use 40mhz and N only if you're using all N network devices. You need to make sure that the adapters that aren't working are also setup properly - adapters have wireless settings the same as a Router does. Access it through Device Manager by right clicking on the adapter and clicking on Properties, then whatever tab is needed to access the settings.
Another good rule of thumb is to always use matching network devices - Linksys Router with Linksys adapters, Dlink with Dlink, Netgear with Netgear, etc. Even though devices may be able to work together, different makes and models are different, and manufacturers design their devices to work with their own hardware, not others. Though the 802.11N standard is close to FINALLY being ratified by the IEEE, it isn't yet, so technically there is no standard for manufacturers to comply with.
Try your settings first. If that doesn't do it, then uninstall the drivers for the adapters in question and restart your system to reinstall them. Check for any driver updates as well from the Linksys Support site.
Make sure that your Router's Wireless Mode is set to Mixed, 20mzh Standard Channel, and set the Channel to Auto.
Linksys wireless adapters (G) will not work with new netgear N router
