Hi guys I recently moved and when I was about to install the router in my new house, I realised I lost the installation cd. Can this router be installed without the CD? Something like plug and play?

You don't have to install anything for a router to work. You just have to set it and the computers up correctly. The cds just make that look more people-friendly.

So I can just connect my modemn to the router and a cable from the router to my desktop and it should work on both my desktop and the WLAN?

    Thanks

If you have the same DSL/Cable company before the move, you should have no problem with it, just connect the cables and you are good to go.

You could also access the configuration pages for the router using this address, http://192.168.1.1

That IP address will take you to the configuration page of your Linksys router.

Are you still on the same company before the move? If so, when your first got it, do you remember to log on with a user name and password? Thats PPoE.

In the linksys manual they suggest you to unplug everything first. Then plug in the cable modem (wait until everything is done flashing) and then plug in the cable modem. See if that helps.

Refering to the 192.168.1.1 address to log into your linksys router, the default password is admin with username blank. This is if you didn't change it already.
