I have a v7.2 Linksys WRT54GS flashed to DD-WRT v24. All was working until today, the router says it has obtained a gateway and dns ip addresses, however on two laptops we've tried, we cannot ping the gateway or the DNS servers, however we can ping the IP address and get responses, our WAN page looks like this:

    Automatic Configuration - DHCP
    Connection Uptime
    0:10:40
    IP Address - 210.79.179.119
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.254.0
    Gateway - 210.79.176.1
    DNS 1 - 61.120.195.72
    DNS 2 - 61.120.193.2
    DNS 3 - Blank
    Remaining Lease Time
    0 days 00:54:17

Now I can successfully ping the IP Address, but I recieve Destination Net ureachable errors for the Gateway and DNS servers. When I directly connect laptop to cable modem via wired ethernet, I can connect to the internet just fine so I know something is wrong with the router. I have tried to flush both laptop's DNS' and do a 30/30/30 hard reset to the router to no avail.

Can anyone provide their expertise on this problem? Thank you...

EDIT: Now it looks as if Windows can now "see" that the router "sees" the DNS server, but still cannot ping it.

I say remove all cables from the Router and Modem and re-connect them starting with the Modem; let it boot fully, then plug in the cables to the Router.

I can ping the DNS IP Addesses that you list above. I wouldn't be able to ping you Gateway IP though as that's basically your Internal IP Address. Which is unreachable by me. So therefore the issue lies between the Router and the Modem. Performing the above steps I mentioned should clear it up.

Note: If you can't ping the Gateway then you wouldn't be able to ping the DNS Addresses. The Gateway on the Router is the IP Address of the Modem; which is the Gateway to the outside world. The Internet.

This would explain why connecting directly to the Modem would work fine.
