This is my first time working with a home network, so I am kind of new at this...

I currently have a Linksys WRT54G router hooked up to a desktop PC (wired). I disabled the DHCP client on the PC and gave it the static IP of 192.168.1.20. I am trying to run the IIS web server on port 8080, so in the port forwarding section of the web configuration, I have the following entry:

    Application: IIS Web
    Start: 8080
    End: 8080
    Protocol: Both
    IP Address: 192.168.1.20
    Enable: Yes

However I still cannot access the web server outside of my network. I also have ZoneAlarm installed, but I checked the settings in it and everything seems to be allowed...

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you disable your Windows firewall and zone alarm?

I actually ended up on that page yesterday and followed everything there... this whole thing is getting pretty confusing for me.

Well now I feel like I just wasted a whole lot of time. As it turns out, in school today I could access pages on my server, and I hadn't changed anything at all. Appearantly when viewing the pages locally, I cannot use the IP assigned by my ISP nor any of the no-ip.com subdomains that point to it - I have to use my LAN IP or computer name... Strange.
