Hey, I have a xps m1330 with the intel 4965 wireless N card and a linksys WRT330n Router.

I have a cable internet connection if it matters.

When i turn on my computer it starts at 130Mbps (the highest I've ever seen it go)
BUT after a few minutes it starts dropping to 78Mbps and then to 52Mbps and then to 26.0Mbps!!!!
Meanwhile it says the signal strength is excellent!!!

Whats wrong with it? Does anyone know whats causing this? Besides it dropping speed shouldn't it be able to go faster then 130Mbps to begin with?

I upgraded the firmware, I have the setting at Wireless N mixed because i have 2 other computers that use G and I'm using WPA-Personal AES for the security settings

Why is it doing this?!? It's running at a slower speed then the G laptops!!

    Please help!

    Thank you!

It should go faster than 130Mb, but it will not, because this Intel card is not dual band and therefore you will have to get a different router in order to use it at N speeds (D-Link DIR-855 would be a good choice).
You can search this area here for "dual band Intel N" or something like that. I am sure there will be plenty of results.
Here and here is a good place to start.
