    Hi,

I just got this linksys wrt310N router, hooked it up. installed the latest update for it, and I also updated the driver of wifi-N card on my laptop, it is intel wifilink-N 5100.

but I only get speeds between 58Mbps and 65MBps and it sometimes goes below, which normally was stable at 54Mbps with a G router...

I could not figure out the settings in the router, if I should select the wide band or standard etc..

    Please, I need help...

I think you should ask at Linksys forum. There, you will receive best answers.
    GOOD LUCK!

Is the router or i5100 saying it's connected at that speed ?

The router can often report a much lower connection speed than it's max.
Mine currently is showing 60Mbps but WLAN card says 300Mbps.
The WLAN card should say max speed possible.

BTW the router link speed various widely, as I do some intensive bandwidth stuff it shoots up.

Man, I gave it back. after hours of work on the settings, I was able to get 130Mbps. but it was not stable, and I would say that my crappy belkin 54mbps router was working more stable than the 310N.
