I've been using the Liksys WAG354G (v1) for the past two years without any issues. Recently I received a D-Link G624T from my ISP after upgrading my connection. As far as I can tell there isn't any difference between the two, at least in their specifications, though I don't really know much about wireless routers. So is there really a difference and which is better? I've read about some overheating issues with the D-Link but I don't know how accurate those are and can't be bothered to test both routers myself. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Should I switch to WAP-Pre Shared Key? I gather it is safer than WEP.

I can't answer you on the differences between models, but the WEP comment, yeah, any option you have for WPA is better than WEP. WEP is almost like not having security at all anymore.

WEP is good and people who want intently to break into your network not only they need to be very close to your house but also have the right tools and time. WPA is definitely safer, but it might cause some intermittent internet connection issues.

All of you, consider this, is the story of the thieve, if he wants to get into your house, he will get into your house no matter how good your alarm system is, or how good are your guardian dogs, the thieve just need one thing, a reason, how many people out there really want to break into your network?
