Ok I seem to have bad luck with linksys products :(
I finally have my wrt350n setup and working correctly thanks to the members here :)
So with my new router setup I now want to set up my new linksys wvc54gc network camera.

I used the setup cd and I did plug everything into the correct port ect but when the setup config searches for the camera on the network it says it can't find it and that I need to make sure I have everything setup correctly.
Well I've looked on the web but can't find answers and I've been messing around with the camera settings but I can't get any +results.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

    Thanks

Well knowing nothing about setting up a network camera the first thing I would ask is does it have an IP Address so it can communicate? Here is the link to the product...try going through the User Guide.

Is your firewall blocking it? check the router too.

It should get an IP address, look in the routers log and see it there.

When I go to 192.168.1.115 I log into the settings of the camera but there's no place to get video feed there.
I have disabled my firewall on my computer but nothing there.

What exactly am I looking for in the log?

    Thanks

You may have to read the manual on this one. Is it using a special port to access the feed?

    Arrhgg this is so frusterating.
I called linksys and they wanted me to pay them $9 per hr. to help me with this stupid camera.
I told them I couldn't/wouldn't pay and they said they wouldn't help me so byebye :(
I've read the manual but it doesn't say anything I don't know.
I'm 100% sure I've connected it properly. I've googled and done everything I've been able to do but whenever I run the setup cd it still can't detect the camera.
What the h3ll is up with this camera?
    Isn't there anything I can do here?Dammit

Ok when I go to 192.168.1.115
I see the settings for the camera

So here's a picture of something that might be significant to someone that knows about ip cameras
What numbers/address should I put in?

    Try pinging the camera..

Are you using the ethernet or wireless?

erwallie the Camera's IP Address is on a different network than the Router itself. (Camera is on the 1.0 network while the Router is on the 2.0 network) And the DNS can't be the same as the IP Address of the Camera.

Go on a working computer that's connected to the same router that the Camera is connected to and do a Start--> Run and type cmd and hit enter. Then type ipconfig /all and take note of the Default Gateway and the DNS IP.

*If the Default Gateway is 192.168.2.1 then the IP of the Camera should/could be 192.168.2.115. Most likely the DNS should be 192.168.2.1 also so that's what it should be set to in the Camera's configuration.
    OR
*If the Default Gateway is 192.168.1.1 then the IP of the Camera should/could be 192.168.1.115. Most likely the DNS should be 192.168.1.1 also so that's what it should be set to in the Camera's configuration.

First of all, your network setup is confusing...Anyhow, try this.

In the Webcam settings set the Gateway to 192.168.1.1 and add 192.168.2.1 as a Secondary DNS and set the IP Address to something like 192.168.1.105.

    Yea it's working
    I called linksys.
The guy had me put in the gateway and dns1&dns2 addresses
then I opened up the video feed area and nothing showed up
Then he had me open up internet exploder and I suddenly had the video feed

Apparently FF3 has an issue with the camera software and it wasn't working.

So all seems to be working now ;)

Thanks makaveli72, flipfire and blue for all your replies :) I'll rapeyal

Okay cool...I think I understand now. Your post #10 confuses me though...I don't think the 192.168.1.115 is needed nor is a valid DNS address...but I could be wrong though. Either way it works so....
