I'm considering getting one of these devices.
They cost about $50 on ebay.

    I have a question though.
If I have one connected to my home network, Can I connect to it when I'm not at home and get video feed from it? I mean how does that work?

    Thanks for any answers.

Which model? Cause $50 is a bargain

Yes you will be able to connect to it remotely. It should come with a built in remote web server.
