I have been trying everything to get the E4200 to be stable while playing online games, and i'm just out of ideas.

I've turned off SPI, WMM, and other features in the router to try and get a stable consistent connection, but I keep getting periodic lag while playing anything online (Quake Live, Call of Duty, etc). I also tried different channels (using inSSIDer to see what channels are being used in the area) but to no avail. Logs on the router are also useless by the way - they just show connections and ports, but not any errors in transmission.

It happens every 2-3 minutes, and lasts between 5-10 seconds. One of those annoying things that happen just at the moment when you are about to score a kill, but lag destroys any chances of that. I know it is something specific to the router because my D-Link DGL-4500 works flawlessly via wireless. I also am using an Alienware m14x with the Intel 6205 wireless 2x2 which is able to handle signals quite well and consistently.

I went back to using my DGL-4500 and am in the process of returning the E4200 to Best Buy.

Just a word of warning to those out there expecting to game with the new E4200 - I could not get it to work consistently out of the box or with additional tweaking.

I'm curious since you say your DGL-4500 works flawlessly why did you even buy the E4200?
