I just posted this over at the Linksys forum. I didn't want to bring the NBR WPS Security Issue off topic, so I thought I would start a new thread. Here is the problem with my E3200 wireless router, after the new firmware upgrade.

    Quote
I just upgraded to 1.0.03 Build 9. The WPS lock down does work, so thank you. However, this release further breaks my logging. I've never had any logging under the "Incoming Logs", and the newest version does not fix this. But under the "Security Log" I've always had proper entries. After this "upgrade" all I get is this: (where nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn = my Mac Address)

    Wed, 07 Mar 2012 14:36:44 User login from nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn(192.168.1.100).
Wed, 07 Mar 2012 14:36:44 User from nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn(192.168.1.100) Authentication fail.
Wed, 07 Mar 2012 14:54:50 User from nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn(192.168.1.100) Authentication fail.

It used to accurately log the configuration changes I made. Now it tells me only "Authentication Fail".

I hoped you had the Incoming Log fixed, not more logs broken!
    End quote

I worked with Linksys regarding the blank Incoming log, around 2 months ago. They told me to set the MTU from Auto, to Manual 1465, and when that didn't work, to 1100. Neither of the manual settings changed my empty Incoming Log. I gave up expecting the incoming log to actually work. But this latest release breaks another log. Very frustrating. :rolleyes2:

Have any of you, NBR forum members, experienced E3200 logging problems?

    Thanks for any replies.

Well, I guess no one here at this forum, has an E3200 Linksys router. Or if they do, either didn't do the 1.0.03 Build 9 upgrade, or have done the upgrade, and didn't experience any problems with the logging.

I had a live chat session with Cisco about my logging problem. They suggested I reset my router using the Red button, and re-run the installation disc. I just did this, to no avail. I replied to the chat incident e-mail, and reported the following:

This is in response to the problem listed in incident 120310-000086.

I have tried the complete reset (red button push until the power light blinks, and run the setup disc again).

After the reset, the logging problem STILL REMAINS. Not only do I have zero incoming logging, the Security Log only contains “Authentication Fail” for each entry. See this log: (I have substituted nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn for my MAC address, for my safety in this e-mail)

    Tue, 13 Mar 2012 12:56:11 User login from nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn(192.168.1.100).
Tue, 13 Mar 2012 12:56:11 User from nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn(192.168.1.100) Authentication fail.
    Tue, 13 Mar 2012 13:00:52 User login from nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn(192.168.1.102).
Tue, 13 Mar 2012 13:00:52 User from nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn(192.168.1.102) Authentication fail.

Please address this malfunction in the current 1.0.03 Build 9 version of your release.

This is what I used to get, under the Security Log, before the new 1.0.03 version:

    Sat, 24 Dec 2011 15:42:05 User login from NN.NN.NN.NN.NN.NN(192.168.1.100).

    Sat, 24 Dec 2011 15:46:43 User from NN.NN.NN.NN.NN.NN(192.168.1.100) access SingleForward.asp.

I really need the Security Log!
Have any of you E3200 forum users experienced this logging problem? Or am I just peeing in the wind?

    Thanks,

I am also having problems with the router randomly disappearing from remote access!?

    Any progress on the logs?

    Mark,
The short answer is NO. I've brought my concerns to them, in 2 Linksys chat sessions, and to the Linksys forum at:

E3200 Firmware 1.0.03 (Build 9) Feedback Thread - Cisco Home Community

I could revert back to 1.0.01 build 3, but I would lose the WPS fix. I guess we have to wait for the next firmware release, and hope they've fixed the logging.

As far as the remote access, I've never tried to log in remotely, and I have this function turned off.
