Linksys Conflicts While Configuring-Opinions?

Well everytime i go install the Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G (v.3.1). Im always having issues and if anyone else was having problems? Well of coarse i know a lot about wireless and i cant be really doing something wrong with how the problem is. Well here is a perfect example that just happened to me when i did a reformat on my 8600. Well of coarse i go install all my stuff and finally- my router! Well im doing the setup like normal. Do all the connections exactly how it is. Then i go to get passed to the enter the ip settings. I get passed the checking of the combatibility. Then all of a sudden, things start turning horrible. I enter my security, Ip address, DNS servers, my gateway then, when it gets to the page were it says proceed. It will always say to restart the router, reset it, cant detect modem. Then all of a sudden it will get passed that. But half the time it wont, but when it trys to finish the setup, it cant, it always will say it cant find the internet and i have to give up. But like i said, after i get after the proceed, i get problems and error messages. Every single time i do the setup that will happen. I know what im doing and its nothing i can do.[/B] But does anyone else have this trouble. But then i found a solution: For some reason, the online setup always works. It will do the setup with my configuring in under 10min. Maybe i got faulty software? My router is flawless and i think never has had a disconnect.
I will be getting a New Linksys Router again soon. Im thinking of the top one with VPN but im not sure yet. I will keep you updated and possibly do a review on it.
Well does anyone have these same issues or did i get lemon software?
