:( I had an old Linksys B Router. I live in a 2 story home with an office in my garage and had pretty good coverage throughout the entire house and garage however, it was incredibly slow. I was unable to view streaming video among other things. I purchased a D-Link Extreme wireless N Router and a D-link Extreme N Notebook adapter. The speed is great and coverage all over the house is great with the Laptop but, I lost all connectivity with my desktop computer/printer, etc. in the garage office. I bought and installed a Belkin N Wireless USB Adapter. Still no signal in the garage. I have a brand new D-Link Wireless G Router in the box. Is there any way to use it as a repeater, range extender or access point in or near the garage?

Access point will mean running a cable to the router for it to repeat the signal.

A USB WLAN card is not really designed for such extreme range.
A desktop 11n card would have been a better choice (good ol' hind site)

Sisters house is the same, all through the house good signal.
    Down one floor nothing.

Had a closer look at what the floor was made of, and explained all.
Concrete held in a steel frame = nothing gets through that.
Resolved it by shifting the router to where it could bounce downstairs.
Got reception now, and my brother in law is forever indebted to me :)
