    Hello,

I have been having problems recently with latency while online gaming. I use an ASUS RT-N56U router. I switch between ethernet and wireless connection, but only use ethernet while gaming.

I will start to get much higher pings (and much more variable ping). Trace reports show that the first few hops, including the router itself, are spiking between 2 and 75+ms. If I connect directly to the modem, the problem nearly always goes away.

I have updated my ASUS firmware to the latest version and reset the router, but the same issues exist. Any help is appreciated!
