I am using a laptop, a toshiba tablet and i'm having wireless problems. I use a belkin n wireless router. I just got this router and initially my problems that i got were something about unable to get certificate for network [SSID]. In addition to that, i get the "This connection has limited or no connectivity..." The limited or no connectivity did not allow me to access internet at all, and this would happen ever couple minutes (maybe just even 1). I would then have to repair the internet connection (sometimes didn't work, said that unable to renew ip address), which would make the connection work for a couple of minutes then i get the pop up of the limited or no connectivity again. Now after disabling my WPS after being told so by a Belkin customer service, the certificate for network ssid is gone. The limited or no connectivity problem still came up though, so i called again. This time i got told to update firmware, which i did. This allowed my internet to last longer before have the limited or no connectivity. But then it just happens again where i have to repair and the whole process repeats. After than i disabled my WSZ (something like that? anyone care to to remind me what the command for it was?) that keeps checking for wireless access points. This improved it too, but it still occasionally happens. After a repair, sometimes it will last over 10 minutes, other times less than 1 minute. Also, even when connected, i sometimes still get no connectivity, says 1Mbps, and other horrible rates (which eventually leads to the "This connection has limited or no connectivity."

Sorry for the block of text. Anyway, can anyone help me out with this? In conclusion, i need a fix for my internet. It sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, when it doesn't, i get this error message:
    " Wireless Network Connection
This connection has limited or no connectivity. You might not be able to access the Internet or some network resources. For more information, click this message."
I have a belkin wireless N router with this WPA/WPA2-Personal (PSK) encryption with TKIP+AES

did you update your toshiba tablet wireless network adapter drivers? What tablet is it? Does it support wireless N?

Despite all the information you provided, you're missing some important stuff.

    tablet model
    wireless adapter in it
    router model
    exact network setup (dsl,cable,fios....)
    modem type if any

Hm, i'm not sure where to get this info because this is is my sister's laptop. For a couple of years she was using unprotected wireless internet from neighbors, and now i got a wireless router. Right now she doesn't need it so i'm just using it it temporarily to test out how it will be like for me when i get a laptop.

I'm not sure if the toshiba tablet is up to date. It is a satellite r10 tablet. I'm not sure if it supports wireless N, seeing as how its about 4 years old, i don't think so.

Router model is a Belkin N Wireless Router (N MIMO). I run on cox cable. Modem type?

By turning of Wifi Protected Setup, it doesn't ask for certificate anymore. That's not the problem now anywho, it's the fact that i still sometimes get limited or no wireless connectivity, then i will have to repair the connection a couple of times. After repairing the connection, it will either go to limited or no wireless connectivity again in a couple of minutes or actually work for a while before going into limited or no connectivity. Worked all last night when i used it for 30 minutes... so yeah.

Anyway, when i use the laptop again i'll check back here and report how long the internet lasts before it messes up again. Thanks for the help.

Your laptop does not support wireless N so log into router and change the wireless mode to 802.11g only; change the bandwidth to 20mhz, change the channel from 6 or 11 to something else; turn protected mode off, and for test purposes, turn of encryption completely.

Once things are working fine, turn the wireless encryption back on.

Does it matter to changing it to 802.11g? The option i run on is 802.11b/g/n. And what will changing the channel do?

edit: I changed it to 802.11g only and changing the channel, i still got the limited or no connectivity error after a couple of minutes. Right now its connected, but i don't know how long it will last. Sometimes it lasts, many times it doesn't. I think disabling encryption will probably make it work, but i don't really want to leave it unencrypted. But i'll see, when i get the next error, i will reconnect unencrypted, and i'll report back.

    In simple terms,

Since you do not have 802.11n, there is no reason to set your router to that. When your router is set to allow a mix of wireless standards, it needs to process for different standards. Turning off 802.11n means the processor doesn't "have to work so hard"--if you want to turn it on later, do so, but for our test, turn it to 802.11g only

Changing the channel is intended to -- for lack of a better term--reduce the "congestion" in the airwaves around you. By default, most routers transmit on channel 6 or 11...if you have a lot of routers around you, you have a lot of background chatter for your signal to fight through. If you transmit on a different channel, there is less chance of that and better chance of a clear signal on a different channel

Ok, first of all, i'd like to thank you for helping me out throughout this. I am still having problems though. When i got the error, as i said, i turned off encryption, i tried to connect on the laptop but it didn't work at all. Didn't even connect. So i turned on encryption again, first try didn't work, but 2nd try did. At the moment i'm connected.

*sigh, on a side note, i'm only using this temporarily, so i'm hopeful, i might be getting a new laptop, and from suggestions and most popular laptops, i might be getting a new hp dv5t. You think this might work fine? The only other device i use wifi on is my iPhone, and it works perfectly fine.

I will get back if the error comes back up again, which i'm sure it will.

If you have encryption turned on...and your computer is set to automatically connect to that connection...and then turn encryption off, you will get an error something along the lines of the wireless connection does not match the saved information....or something like that.

You need to go into saved connections and delete the old one that had the encryption setting, then reconnect as if it were a new connection

How will i do that without my SSID being publicly broadcasted? I'm not sure how to add it...

Anyway, the connection has been working for more than half an hour id say right now, with encryption on.

I will try turning encryption off tomorrow or when it gives me the error again.
