Hi! I got this problem more than a month already. My HP laptop DV2855EE was purhased last October 30 and it's working fine then. When I went to Singapore WIFI connection is everywhere so I browse internet thru WIFI all the time. After a month I came back to KSA and started also browsing the net thru WIFI. Few days later I changed connection because I'm always downloading so it's faster when connected thru cable. So after an hour my laptop got stucked up and I have to shut it down by pressing the power button and then restart it again. Since then it always got stucked up sometimes 7 to 8 times a day i'm just pressing the power button to shutdown and restart it again. Then I switch back to connecting to WIFI and to my surprise my laptop works fine again it did not stucked up even once. But after few days I'm thinking to use the network cable again because I really need fast downloading so I purchased another cable because I'm thinking maybe the cable I'm using is defective but the result is the same it still got stucked up. I already asked our IT in my company but they can not give any solution to my problem. So please help me on this immediately.

Have you tried updating the driver for the wired network card? That'd be my first place to check.

I would try uninstalling your drivers for your ethernet and reinstalling and also try it for your wireless as Big Mike said

Uninstall and then reinstall (and update if need be) the drivers for your ethernet adapter.

That is so cool, makes me wonder why the US doesn't have Wifi everywhere at least in the big cities. (by that I mean in my city :p )

On a side note, Wifi should be fast enough for internet downloads, unless you are downloading from a Lan server, since most of the connection doesn' surpass 11 mbps (b speed), isn't going to surpass 54 mbps (g speed) anytime soon.

Hey people! Good news my problem is over. After uninstalling the ethernet driver and re-installing it again my laptop is doing fine now just like a new unit. So thanks to everyone I just came back to inform everybody maybe somebody will experience the same problem and make known of my situation. Good luck to all of you and continue your good job by helping others.
