Got a new HP dv6000t w/Vista Premium with the Intel 3945 and it shows connected to my neighbors network (with his consent) but I cannot get a webb page to come up. IE 7 acts like there is no connection?

Are you sure his internet is working? It will show up connected if the wireless router is turned on, but if for some reason his cable is unplugged it would do that. It may sound retarded but I've seen it happen quite a few times :p

I'll have to ask him later but it is usually connected.
    I am new to this.
I have been looking at some settings, carefull not to change anything.
Do I want to be "Discoverable"?

The internet should work just fine when you start it up the first time, before I got cable at my house (I live next to a school) and was using theirs and the connection would drop randomly for a half hour at a time one day, turned out they were switching routers :-d

Discoverable would refer to your Bluetooth connection not the wireless :p

    Got It!
Thanks guys but....... this is what happened.
I went cruising through the programs and found the HP wireless assistant and went through the wizard.
I got to a point where it seen my neighbors signal and said it is going to connect to the internet.
It changed screens and then wanted me to hook up a cable.
I bailed out and tried google afgain and BAM!

Yeah sometimes they require oem drivers/applications or they don't work very well.
