This problem just sprouted up today. Nothing as far as I know has changed since last successful connection, no updates, no driver changes.

When connecting my laptop via LAN, the connection appears to be fine (it finds the router, the lights are blinking) but it says "No Internet access"
**have tried connecting to modem as well with no success

WiFi, on the other hand works fine, no issues.

Connecting other computers to the router (and modem) and they seem to work just fine.

This is a Gateway 7805u FX
    OS: Windows 7 x64 (build 7600)
    LAN adaptor: Marvell Yukon 88E8071

I have no idea the criteria Windows uses to label a connection having "Internet" access.

I clearly ignore it and use the Gold F-ing standard. Does Notebookreview.com come up when I open a browser?

issue solved, talked on some IRC networks and figured it out

Just set up a static IP, computer wasn't pulling proper DNS server.

So advice for those with similar problems, try static IP setup.

Good for you... setting up static IP is one way of doing it. It can also be rooted on the domain name configuration of your LAN on the router and your desktop/laptop connected via ethernet.

    Nice man... good job.
