    Hi guys,
So I got my brand spanking new Clevo P650se notebook and the killer 1525 ac card is being really crappy. I'm getting download speeds of 2.1 Mbps and upload speeds of 1 Mbps. Right now, I'm rolling with the pre-installed "Qualcomm Atheros Performance Suite" Version 1.144.1292.

I've seen a decent number of people having trouble with this card. My questions are as follows:

    1) Which driver version would you recommend and where can I get it?
    2) Should I uninstall the Killer Wireless Suite (the current drivers) that I've got running?
    3) I only have 2.4 ghz band capable routers on hand. What settings can I change to max my speed? My router is capable of 300 mbps, but I only get 2.1 mbps?

I'd really appreciate any help with this. Thank you very much.

Download speeds have a lot to do with your Internet Service,Home Network Setup and the sites you are connecting to.

802.11ac is a technology for the 5ghz band only.

I pair my Killer N1525 with a Netgear R7000 AC 1950 router and I get a steady 866.7 Mbps link speed on the 5ghz band from about 21" and going through 2 sheet rock walls.

With a single 2.4ghz band 300 Mbps router your performance will suffer.

If you move into the same room as the router and about 5' away is the performance better?

I m using the newest Performance Suite 1.1.48.1376 and a slightly older Bluetooth driver 3.0.0.400

BTW,there is a thread in this Networking Forum that is dedicated to the Killer N1525 and that is where I suggest you make posts for info and help related to the N1525

It's perfectly fine to start a separate thread for each issue - it will be easier than search in future.
I did rename the thread so it would indicate an issue rather than a thread about the card.

Okay guys. So an update. I had a feeling that it might be the Killer Wireless Manager mucking things up for me. For some reason, it now reads " The Killer service is offline" whenever I start it up. I thought I'd delete the software and then re-install the drivers and then I noticed something odd. My network adapter is identified as Killer AC 1525 and it has the latest drivers; but, in the Control panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features, I see that I have "Qualcomm Atheros Performance Suite" and "REALTEK Wireless LAN Driver" installed.

My questions is: should I uninstall the realtek wireless lan driver? Could it be interfering with the Qualcomm Atheros Performance Suite?

I don't know if this helps...but my notebook is the Eurocom M5 Pro. I'm overall quite happy except for the crappy wireless performance. Even my 6 year old acer performs better and with more consistency with regards to the wireless network situation.

In theory Realtek driver should be uninsulated but in reality there's little chance is causing issues.
That said - it is one more possibility to eliminate.

    Final update guys.

So I uninstalled the Killer Network Suite that I had originally and re-installed the latest version from Qualcomm's website. Annnnnnnddd...It wrecked havoc on all my network connections. So, then I decided to delete those drivers and re-installed version 1.1.144.1292 from Eurocom's website. BAM! Everything works again. So for now, I'm just going to stick with these, but I will not mess with the Killer Network suite at all. Hopefully that keeps network connectivity good.

If it still doesn't improve, then I'd either go for an intel 7265 or maybe try to get this card replaced.

Did your Clevo ship with the OS,software, drivers and utilities pre installed?

If yes, then you should think about wiping the drive and doing a fresh clean install.

Do other owners of your model with the Killer N1525 report similar issues in the Clevo/Sager forums on this site?

Okay guys. Get ready for it! Drum roll.....I got it to work perfectly. It has been at-least for the last half and hour. Okay, so here is what I finally did. I completely uninstalled my Qualcomm Killer Network Suite. Then I uninstalled the Realtek WLAN Drivers as well. I restarted my machine and then re-installed only the killer networking suite. So far, it's been great.

I'm sitting about 25 feet away from my router and getting download speeds of 7 mbps whereas I was only getting about 2.1 mbps before. Overall, this feels great. If this continues, then I will be more than happy with this product.

If anyone from Eurocom is reading this, stop shipping units with both Realtek WLAN Drivers and the Qualcomm Atheros Suite. If someone asks for a killer network card, remove the Realtek drivers please.
