After the long discussion on this forum about which wireless N router to get, with much help I decided on the wrt600n. I heard some good reviews about performance and decided it was worth the extra cash.

Well, needless to say it's now all hooked up within the hour and my notebook is connected at 270.0 mbps from the room opposite the router, and my wired desktop is connected at 1.0 gbps! A huge upgrade from 54.0 and 100.0 mbps wired. So far so good, hopefully this thing is consistent and doesn't drop connections. Just thought I'd let you all know my results!

I apologize if I make you repeat, but are you saying that you have an Intel wireless N minicard on your laptop and a wrt600n router and achieving 270Mbps?

Which is the exact model of the Intel minicard?

Have you tried to be very close to the router just for the sake to see if you can get 300Mbps?

Yes, I have an intel wireless N 4965 AGN mini card in my notebook and I just got the wrt600n today. I went right next to the router and it stayed at 270.0 mbps. However, I am a good distance away from the router at the monent, and it will not drop below 270.

    Very satisfied so far.
