I'm running an Asus N50JQ, and I have to say, pardon my french but Apple is absolute crap.

Unbelievable. I updated my itunes and then my wireless network would show me as connected and and everything perfect and after multiple resets of router modem computer and wireless card I simply uninstalled itunes to fix it.

    Unreal. Absolutely livid right now.

Two of my four room mates use mbpros and I'm the furthest from the router and any time they get between it and me I lose connection.

When a PC get's between it, NOTHING. The second A mac even has it's connection on I am first disconnected, then internet is returned but at a much slower speed. It's unreal. Any fixes?

PS; I hate you Apple, you're slowing the progress of computer development with shiny well packaged pieces of crap.

Try setting your card to wireless G only?

How does one do that with a poor Atheros card?

Does your router have bonjour/avahi support enabled?

If so try disabling it and see if the problems continue.

I'm not sure but I uninstalled Bonjour and all other apple apps as well when I fixed it.

Now my room mate just got a new Mac Book Pro yesterday (One that previously had it) and it causes even more interference with my internet.

Disabling it on one client won't fix it if your router has a buggy implementation of bonjour, so try disabling it on the router if it's enabled. Good luck! :)

I totally understand the Apple frustration, and I've been with Apple since the 1st Gen iPhone.
With iTunes, it'd refuse to load at all until I'd download a newer version, but it would keep crashing regardless. I even tried going right to their site to download the latest version - yet it'd still give me constant problems and refuse to load properly. I'd have to ctrl-alt-delete all the time if I ever tried to use it. It was freaking terrible. I somehow fixed it after a few months, I think from just trying to wipe it completely from my computer... but that program is seriously more trouble than it's worth..
