Is this possible? If so, how?

So, I've got a wireless network set up so that my wireless router is sending a signal to a desktop computer using a Belkin Pre-n router and the Belkin Pre-n wireless card. If I go with g cards the signal won't be good enough to get a consistently good connection and bandwidth. I can not run an ethernet cable to the computer due to the size of the distance and some details that I won't go into. However, I need there to be wired internet access in computers that are near the desktop that is receiving the wireless signal.

    So, my question is this:

Is it possible to set it up so that the desktop that is receiving a wireless internet connection to send internet access to a router or a hub, and then send it out to more computers? I thought about setting it up so that the desktop is sharing the internet connection; but I'm not sure how this will work.

Any help would be much appreciated, I hope this makes sense to you guys.

Yes, Windows XP has the ability to do "internet connection sharing", so you should be able to share your connection with nearby computers.

Unfortunately, I have never done this, so I can't help you with implementation...

Remember though, that the other PCs will esentially be leeching off your connection.. so if you try to do anything that is bandwidth intensive on ANY of them, it's going to slow down the internet, and possibly chew up processing resources on the machine that is doing the sharing.

    Thanks for your help.

Now my question is; would I need a router, switch, or a hub to do it?

He wants a wired network with other computers, and a wireless connection with the "main" computer with the router. I have also not tried it before, but you can use a switch to connect the "main" computer with the other computers i guess.

Enable ICS (Internet connection Sharing) it will ask you with interface connects to the internet and which network interface connects to the local network. then connect the network cable from the lan devise to the hub uplink, you shouldnt need a router. then plug in your other computers to the hub.
