On my computer a webpage loads slower than others. Are there possibly any settings I can change to make the webpage load faster?
In internet options, I did make the site "Trusted" under the security tab. I also went into the Privacy tab and set "per site privacy actions" and always allowed cookies. I am not sure either of those two things will do anything.

If it matters, the site is: http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/forum/categories.cfm?catid=17

Not really. The bottleneck is probably server-side.

It all depends on your setup and OS. Ram is the one thing that can speed things up. All of the MS current versions should require a min of 4gig. The base recommended of 2gig only covers loading windows, then if you have shared video you have less.

Switching on Turbo in Opera usually speeds up page loads on slow sites. I tried it on your site and it seemed to be a bit faster.

I was thinking more along the lines of Caching the page somehow. Not to sure how this will work though.

You can't really cache a forum.

Doesn't Opera's turbo feature basically compress all the text and images on the webpage in the same way dialup ISPs did a decade ago in order to (unsuccessfully, in hindsight) compete with broadband speeds?

Right that's what I was thinking too. But just wanted to throw the idea out there.

Someone suggested reinstalling Windows XP. It has been years since I have done this. Is there ANY change that will speed up my internet connection?

I would rather not do that if there is no chance there will be an improvement.

Make sure your computer is free of fragmented files, junk, viruses and spyware. Put the maximum amount of ram that it will use in it. Make sure your wireless is setup correctly.

The only change I can think of is ie8 support pipelining, if you haven't installed it yet. Chrome is also a faster browser.
