    Hi Everyone

Last night I leave my computer on and then there is a thunderstorm and makes my computer restart and then in the morning, I find out my computer LAN network icon with an (!) mark on it, saying limited network or no access. But then Wireless network has work good. Is it an indicator that my network card has gone bad? I have done restarting computer, turning on and off cable modem. One thing to add is my network card on device manager said is good, so I am not sure what the problem is

    Thanks

So, from what I'm reading, your LAN is down, but your WiFi is working fine. Is that correct?

If so, you can try a few things to see if the card itself is bad:

    1. Un-install the device from device manager and reboot (it should re-detect)
    2. Re-install the drivers
    3. Change network cable & port connected on the router
    4. Bypass the router and hook your notebook directly to your modem (cable/DSL)

Yes, LAN is down, WIFI is working. My other roommate has a LAN and it works fine on them

I have done all the step that you mentioned, but I still get the limited or no activity icon. Any other suggestion
