I'm not sure if its wrong to ask this, but is it possible to hide/ disguise my internet usage. I'm not doing anything illegal or anything, I just don't like the idea of people being able to see what I'm doing on the internet. Call me paranoid, but I feel uncomfortable even asking this on this forum, as if someone is (not literally) staring at the screen over my shoulder.

Sure, just Google the term "proxy avoidance". There are lots of tools and tricks for this. Be warned, though, that doing this using someone else's network or hardware can come with repercussions. Since it's their hardware, they get to dictate whether it's considered acceptable behavior. For example, my employer expressly forbids it and the penalty is termination. I suspect a school would also come down hard on a perpetrator.
