    DIR-655 D-link router

My internet connection with 3 computer was gong strong for three years until this week.

About every twenty minutes, the connection drops for someone and reconnects in 20 seconds.

    This includes a wired connection.

I am getting this message in the browser.

I unplugged the router and modem, and then reconnected them.

    Same problem.

Going into Windows Network Connections and disconecting from the network, then reconnecting seems to temporarily solve the problem.

You should try to right-click the wireless icon in the taskbar, select "Troubleshoot Problems" and it'll reset your adapter and look for additional issues that might be causing it.

Can you bypass your router and connect straight to the modem?
It may be your D-Link going down or ISP issues- that would narrow it down.

When I reboot the computer, the problem is solved for another day.

Does this indicate I have an issue with the computer and not the router?

For the past year I have just been putting my computer into hibernate and had no problems.

for a couple of days, plug your computer directly into the dsl or cable modem. this will tend to prove or eliminate your router as the problem.
