I have the Acer Aspire 5920 and had to keep resetting the wireless router, so I'm using the internet cable from my desktop. I keep losing the connection.Windows troubleshooting message was that an adapter was the problem.I also notice that the status bar keeps activating frequently. Is there a way to troubleshoot this or do I need professional help.

Like above says, update wifi drivers, than update router firmware.
Make and Model of your router would help us. What OS are you running?
Are you using Acer empower tech? Try uninstalling Empower Tech and installing it again. Use Google to download it before uninstalling.

The cable connection is working correctly? No hang ups there?
