About two weeks ago, my internet connection became faster. I am not sure if it has to do with my cable ISP doing something or something I did with my computer.

Right around the same time, my connection began disconnecting every two or three days. Before this, I had a rock solid connection for two years.

It will usually reconnect after a minute. Otherwise, when I boot my computer, the problem is solved.

I am certain there is a correlation between the connection speed going up and my connection becoming less stable.

I am thinking I could make some adjustments to my computer or router to solve the problem, but not sure what.

What type of connection is it- cable, ADSL?
    What setup do you use?
Do you have any connection details (modem statistics etc.)?

Is your DIR-655 connected to anything- i.e. cable modem?
Do all devices have issues (including the wired one)?

    Yes. Motorolla.

Other devices do not have issue.

    I discovered something interesting.

When I go to the website below:

Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Celebrity News | TMZ.com (it is a well known gossip website.)

my internet disconnects. I believe something on that page is causing my connection to fail. Interestingly, about the time I had connection problems, the format of the website changed. More ads and more graphics.

Maybe something on that site is causing my connection to crash.

I am not sure if some analysis of that site by someone could find a problem.

It sounds crazy, but I know anything is possible with comptuers.

It looks like it's a software issue with the computer rather than with the whole setup. When this happens on one machine immediately go to the other one and check that any website loads fine (while the first one is still disconnected)

I found another lead to solving my problem.

When no other website will load, Craigslist will.

Since CL doesn't have any pictures or graphics, it must be a some sort of graphics issue.

It is beyond my ability to understand or fix the problem.

    Maybe someone here can.

This goes back to my belief that TMZ.com is crashing the internet connection on my computer.
