I just moved to Sweden and my uncle has never had internet. We ordered it a couple days ago and they said it won't work until May 5th 2008. They gave us a modem and everything and today I decided to plug it into the wall and see if it works.
We paid for 24Mbit and we are getting 7Mbit but it shouldn't be working anyways and it is. The home telephone still works but what I'm wondering is if maybe we still don't actually have internet and I'm connecting through a home phone line or whatever and have to end up paying for the K/B I use right through the phone line or whatever?
Anyone live in Sweden and know how this works?

I don't think you have to be from Sweden to figure this one out
Your on the network but your speed has not been set yet would be my guess. I know when I signed up for DSL in the US I was given a moden and told they had to install something at the switching station before it would work. It worked that evening but was actually faster than I was supposed to get until they set my speed limits.
If it is not the correct speed on the day they say it will be ready (and should be billing you from) then I would call and say something. Otherwise they may cut you off before then -
I called them up and they said they found an extra port and connected me through it so I can use it now but on May 5th they will try to configure it to 24MBit..
Thanks!
Internet/Telia in Sweden.. Weird thing going on
