Looking to upgrade my Internet service, currently I use Verizon DSL and it's painfully slow downloading anything.
It took like 10 hours once to load a STEAM game :(
Anyway, only service offered in my area is by Charter Cable which does provide ULTRA 60 service that supposedly up to 60Mbps but it's for $100 a month, they do offer a second tier package that has speeds to 25Mbps that's on special( first 6 months it's $55 then goes up to $70 after, no contract)
Looking for members that have this service and opinions on it.
I'm not a heavy downloader but hate to wait so I'm looking to see if 25Mbps is good enough or should I just go for the 60Mbps service?

25 Mbps is faster than 99% of the population. 6-10 Mbps is enough to stream HD video. 25 is insane speed.

    Really!
Didn't think it was that bad nation wide.
Thing is Charter is the only service in my area, Verizon FIOS is a no go and SAT Internet is a last resort.
    Any feedback on Charter service?

Need to read the fine print and make sure they do not have any limits on downloads. A lot do these days..... As far as your DSL, make sure your getting what your paying for. You may have a weak signal or noise that is slowing things down.

Checked everything and it's just my plan.
I do want to upgrade, currently have Verizon and they do have a 8Mbps speed upgrade and was wondering if that's good enough to stream movies without any lag and download games relatively quickly.
Just want the best bang for my buck.
Thanks for all the replies :)

IKAS V: I have a Verizon wireless modem and it is faster than my sisters Verizon DSL. I am in a 3g area so I get between 1.6 and 2.3 mbps. This is fast enough to do what I need. If you can get even half of the 8mbps that they claim depending on how many users on your service it should be fine. If you are really into games maybe not.

I have Charter Cable here in SoCal and have had no problems with their service. Sometimes the internet will die but the only thing necessary is to reset the equipment. Even then I think it is my families Modem and Router and not the internet that they are providing.

I am definitely content with the speed. I'm guessing my family pays for something in the middle, possibly lower end. Never had a problem with download speeds. Everything is to be expected with the speed that my family is paying for. Worth every penny for me because I am not paying it, but it should be worth it for you too.
