My area if I do some Internet test to see how fast my Internet is. I get this. I did 3 tests same website. Which sounds really good right.

    Speedtest.frzr.cablerocket.net

    1
    Cable speed testing
    Download 1048576 bytes
    duration 8507 ms
    Throughput was 962.906
    2
    Cable speed testing
    Total download 1048512 bytes
    Duration 8479 ms
    throughput was 966.086
    3
    Cable speed testing
    total download 1048512 byte
    duration 8481 ms
    Throughput was 965.859

But if I just use this extention you would see a major change.

    http://speedtest.cablerocket.net

    Total download 1044480bytes
    Duration 21961 ms
    Throughput was 0.380 mbps

    total download 1044480 bytes
    duration 13381ms
    throughput was .624 mbps

    Total download 1044480 bytes
    2duration 28732 ms
    Throughput was 0.291 mbps

Games Like Lord of the rings I get 97.50 Loss. Downloading differnt files Like from LA or Bakersfeild. The two Closes Citys to me.

    On http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

This is what I Payed for and should get. Give or take 20%
Download Speed: 978 kbps (122.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 243 kbps (30.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

This is what I am getting.
Download Speed: 236 kbps (29.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 148 kbps (18.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Is there any way I can fight this? Useing the california Laws.

    They tried the basic excuses

1 Well it showing normal speed for this area. You should be running fine. The one thing they dont tell you is they only have One T1 Line for everyone in this town.
2 Or you know when you log onto another server you will get lag.
3 You might have a virus? I was like Oh ya. The same virus that hit all 3 of my computers and the guy up the street who has a Apple computer. I was like wow Apples are Lagging on there virus protection. The tech did not say much after that one.
4 We are looking into this problem please bear with us.
5 Your computer Old and might need a update. I was like wow my computer Not even a year old, try again.
6 Which OS are you useing. Windows vista but it also messing up on windows XP pro.

Before people post you should change internet providers. Well after so many hour on wireless internet they charge you by the hour. Can we say rip off. Or Dial up. DSL providers say there not many people up here so they will not install a dsl server in my area.

Download Cablenut and the aux pack. Install and select the configuration that best matches your setup.

Improper settings can kill a speed, MTU .....

    See if that helps.

Test with wired only first, then work with the wireless once everything is ok.
