I know this may sound like a trivial issue for high school teenagers, but its getting on my nerves.

I was having trouble with this before I reinstalled XP over the weekend so I didn't think its an XP issue. I installed all my drivers and had no issues with that either.

I can log into Myspace and do everything but view bulletins and post them. Firefox and IE try to connect, it hangs up, then I get a screen telling me the server is unavailable.

I thought it might be my IP address being banned or something, but I tried my wife's E1705 on the same cable modem after resintalling XP and it accesses and posts bulletins with no issue whatsoever.

I installed only AVG and Spybot (with TeaTimer active) on both. I did install Adaware 2007 on both, but haven't run a scan on my wife's computer yet. Both computers have Windows Firewall active and have default configurations.

The only other thing I can think of as I type this is to uninstall my Broadcom network adapter and scan for hardware changes in the Device Manager and reinstall drivers.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening on my laptop?

    I did.

I do remember downloading a stupid TCP/IP optimizer and running it on my laptop. I wonder if that screwed up any settings because I can post bulletins while accessing the wireless connection at work.

Use MS System Restore and backup and see if it's starts working.

I disabled it and created a disk image in Acronis. I guess I can try to restore that partition. I'll see what happens.

I think its the network card because I was able to post bulletins from the wireless connection at the lounge I DJ at. I did a diagnostic with it but the NIC checked out.

Of all of the optimizer that I have tried, all made things worst, till I tried cablenut. It actually worked flawlessly. Optimizers changes setting that can greatly impact timing and stack, So yes it can mess things up badly. I used system restore it seamed a dozen times trying to fine one that worked. Event the one provided by my ISP did not work.

I also did not like the way Spybot and teatimer affected my pc. I removed it. I ran it for a year whehn it had a good rating. I found that I do not need one. I use a modified host file to keep me from the bad sites.

I'll try that Cablenut you speak of.

I am getting a little annoyed with TeaTimer, so I may just disable it.
