So I've got an interesting problem for you all.
My gf's laptop (Sony Vaio Series PCG-41216L) randomly stopped connecting to her internet at home. It constantly disconnects when you attempt to connect it (says identifying network -> limited access -> breaks connection -> repeat). However she can connect to my wifi network at my house perfectly fine. My tablet and her parent's laptops can connect to her internet fine also. Her wifi adapter is an Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 1000.

    ipconfig gives me:
    IPv4 Address: 192.168.1.9
    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

    I've tried:
    - uninstalling wifi driver and reinstalling it
    - change power settings to max performance
    - system restore
    - check if ipv4 and ipv6 are automatically getting IP and DNS
    - restart her router

I'm out of ideas besides reformat, anyone got any advice?

i'd hard reset the router and reconfigure it. that's less onerous of a process than reformatting/reinstalling the os on her machine. let us know how that goes. what kind of router does she have and who set it up?

Sent from my PI39100 using Board Express

Its the router that came with Verizon Fios and I believe the Verizon people set it up for them. I'll try that and see if it helps, thanks.

Ice dragon, if it is one of the new FIOS routers, there is an option to back up the config file (so you do not have to write down settings and want to go back easily). Also the login could be any of the following admin/password admin/password1 admin/code printed on the router (unless a custom password was created of course)
If mattcheau's excellent suggest does not fix it, try Delete a network connection in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and set it up again on her laptop.
