    Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with internet at home that is just so annoying and preventing me from getting any work done
My internet was fine until one day it just stopped working. It'll work for a few seconds then I have no internet connection again.
It works fine at school though.

At home It'll show 4 bars, strong connectivity right? but with an exclamation mark.
I was running MBAM and Panda Cloud Anti-virus - I uninstalled both but still no progress.
Now I have AVG Anti-virus Free.

I've flushed and renewed the DNS.
I've tried disable IPV6 and disabling IP Helper in services but I'm still getting the same problem.

Help please? I'm not sure what information you need so just let me know and I'll post whatever you need.

Connect your computer directly to your modem and check whether you have a connection or not. That will allow us to pinpoint the issue, have you also simply tried to power cycle your router and modem?

Also check your wireless channel, if channel 6 then try to set it to channel 13. Login to your router's control panel to make changes. Try to make changes to your router while your connected with an ethernet cable, once you made your changes, logout from the router's control panel, unplug the cable, on your laptop go to network and sharing center, left side manage wireless networks, remove your current network from there and try to reconnect again.

If you want your router to work well with all kind of devices and good security then go for the following security, WPA Encryption: TKIP+AES

If the problem still persist then you should check your adsl filter, reset the router to its factory settings and reconfigure it again.

Also check your wireless key and make sure you have it right.

    good luck

I agree. I found out when having ISP problems and swapping my modem six times and then buying my own is that the cable modem lights can be all lit and showing that it is normal but the connection is still dead. When you reboot the modem then you will know it will take a long time to sync up because then it realizes that there is no connection and tries to sync up. If everything is normal the modem should not take longer than a minute to sync up.
