I just bought an Inspiron 9400. For some reason when I plug my internet connection into the back, it does not work. I've gotten the drivers for it from teh dell website, but no matter what I do, i keep getting "limited or no connectivity". Its not wireless, its a direct connection, and i know the internet is working because it works with my home computer, and my brother's laptop.

    Any suggestions?

This happend to me too. Try doing a power cycle - unplug the power from the router and also the cable modem then replug them back in.

I'm guessing it remembered your MAC address on your desktop computer. Are you sure you unplugged the power cord from the Router and the Modem?

Also, is there a light flashing on the back of the laptop?

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Type:

ipconfig /release and then hit enter
    then type
    ipconfig /renew and hit enter

If this doesn't work, post back.

That means the laptop can't read the modem. Maybe restart the notebook, and do the samething.
