Well, the title is a bit misleading, because the issue is probably in the two wireless adaptors. I have inSSIDer 2.0.6.1208 installed on both my HP 8740w (Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN) and my old Gateway NX860XL (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG). The interesting thing is that although the 6300 has a better signal strength to the home network they're both connected to (-60 compared to -70, although that naturally fluctuates) when both notebooks are about 2-3 feet away from each other, the 3945ABG seems a lot better at finding really weak signals. The 3945ABG shows a lot of really weak (-90ish) networks that simply don't show up at all on the 6300AGN. It's not really a problem, just an interesting quirk. Oh, and the funny thing is, my 6300AGN should have 3 antennas, while the 3945ABG only has 2...
