I haven an IntelĀ® WiFi Link 1000 adapter.

Am I going to get a better connection with the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility?

If so, how do I use it? Do I need to disable the Windows 7 connection utility?

No you are not.The utility has nothing to do with better connection.I would say that is a diagnostics/statistics device.Your card is not supported anyways.Don't feel you are loosing something. In my personal opinion is an absolute nonsence.I stress that this is personal.Somebody else may find it useful somehow.

For most purposes, no, it's not easier than the generic Windows WiFi Interface.

If you have particularly burdensome or strange security in place (usually at a university or large corporation) then there are some additional settings and wizards that can make it slightly easier to configure (by a few seconds).

It wont make your connection any faster. Its just a fancier wifi manager. Windows zero does the exact same thing, so theres no need.

If you do install it, it will just take over the windows wifi management.
