    Hello everybody,
Currently I have the Toshiba A300-1G5:

The Motherboard Chipset is: Intel Crestline-GM GM965

It has the Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Adapter.

I am looking forward towards buying the Intel Pro Wifi 5300 AGN.

I am not sure whether it will work or not? and whether I would have to buy an extra Antenna with it or not? Which form should I buy, is it the Half Form or Full form? Where is the best place to buy it from? Amazon? Ebay? please provide a link :)

    Looking forward for your help.

For the question whether it will work or not, it's definitely going to work. I've installed WiFi Link 5300 inside my crestline Dell Studio 1735.

For the antenna, yes 5300 uses 3, but others have reported that it also works with 2 (though might not be in its full potential). I'm guessing that you haven't opened your Toshiba to see how many antenna leads it has and the form factor it requires. Many crestline notebooks came pre-installed with 3 antennas as default as some models might be configured with WiFi Link 4965AGN. And the form factor is likely full-height, cause you currently use 3945 which known only came in full-height.

As the best place to buy it, don't know for sure. Cause many full-height 5300s sold in eBay are Engineering Samples.

The 3945 is a mini PCIe card, so you must buy another card that is a mini PCIe card, otherwise it won't fit. If your laptop doesn't have three antennas (just open the card covering the 3945 and see how many antennas are in there), then you need to buy another one from a place like oxfordtec.com, snake it inside the laptop (no need to open up the lcd), and then connect it to the new mini PCIe card.
