    Hello guys
I just wanted ask which this wi-fi card is better or what are differences btw. them ?
I know that centrino one has bluetooth BUT I just got brilliant wireless router which supports 450 Mbps speed and Centrino's speed is SLOWER than OLDER 5300 Wi-Fi Link which is running 400-450 Mbps
That centrino newer which should be BETTER is actually slowe and runs on 300 Mbps .. It is quite odd ...

Anybody has some comments on this?
    thnx

Intel 5300 is better. I was a real high-end card comparable to Intel 6300.
Also according to tests someone posted here a while ago Intel 5300 uses less energy (for whatever reason- one would assume that more recent card would be more power efficient). I was a bit surprised but this was a proper research paper and it included energy consumption tests among others.

So not only does 5300 support three spatial streams and is (apparently) more energy efficient but also 6230 is notorious for problems with Wi-Fi throughput going down for no apparent reason (with some drivers and in some laptops but Intel claims they can't reproduce this issue).

Probably because of bluetooth colaboration crossed antennas interference etc..
I will be switching 6230 with WiFi Link 6300

It definitely has something to do with BT since the problem does not exist on 6200 but is also exists on 6230 with BT off so it's not that obvious.

You are comparing 3 stream card with 2 stream card. Obviously the 3 stream one benefit when you have a 3 stream router.

yeah and that is even MORE stupid !
whereas 6230 HAS bluetooth and they implemented ONLY 2 stream.. Intel just experimenting .. and leaving to end users to test how and what benefits really are ..
Anyway 3 stream and 2 stream te ONLY diff is that wi-fi signal is WIDER u can go further away from router with laptop..
I have connected 3 wire antenas in my vaio ... antenas are placed behind screen inside left -right- and center ..

The placement of the antennas behind or on the edges of the top shell is important to the quality of reception.

Place the antennas as far away from each other as possible....lower right corner, lower left corner and top center if possible.

You can measure your signal strength on both your 2.4ghz SSID and 5ghz SSID using the FREE inSSIDer app
inSSIDer for Home – Discover The Wi-Fi Around You | MetaGeek

To measure throughput, download and install a program called QCheck, by Ixia. It's a free download,
    Endpoint Library - Ixia

Your wireless router's signal strength and network throughput measurements will help you confirm whether or not your wireless network is performing as expected.
