    hey guyzz...m having dell vostro 1510 notebook..
    m havin a problem...
    whenever i click on Intel proset wireless....it says..
    INTEL PROSET WIRELESS SOFTWARE WAS UNABLE TO DETECT A SUPPORTED WIRELESS ADAPTER..PLEASE INSTALL A SUPPORTED ADAPTER..

    wat does that mean.. :confused:
    i'm not able to have wifi connection...plz help.. :confused:

    Did it work previously? If not try to re-install / upgrade the Intel PROset wireless first and try again.

    If it did work previously, how did you get to this point? What happened just before the problem occurred ?

    no...it didn't work..i just bought my lappy 6 months ago...everything is working except this one....whenever i click on it..it shows the same message..adapter is missing...and i cannot access wifi connection in my college..
    i tried to re-install this from DRIVER CD..but didn't work..
    plz help

    Try this.

    Go download the wireless driver ONLY from Intel website

    http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-010623.htm

    Start > Run > devmgmt.msc (Assume you are in XP Mode)

    Under Device Manager, go to Network adapters

    Look for Intel(R) Pro/Wireless (Your model), Right click uninstall.

    Restart

    Go Start > Run > devmgmt.msc

    Look for yellow icon that says Network or Wireless (something like that) > Right click and update driver and point it to the drive you download from set one.

    Install the driver ONLY without the Intel Wireless program.

    Tell me how that goes.
