I know there is a topic on this already Intel 8260 vs killer 1535

    link: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/intel-8260-vs-killer-1535.782842/

but I created a new post because the models are different. I buying a New Alienware 17 R4 and as we all know those are perfect little machines that you never have to open, BUT since I am opening it up I might as well do the modifications required to make it better. I have the options of keeping to Killer 1435, upgrading or ordering a new Wifi card.

I am thinking of ordering a new Wifi card. So I have a few questions.

1: Is there any difference between 8260 vs 8265
2: which is better Killer or Intel]
    3: why

    Intel Wireless-AC 8265 802.11ac WiFi+Bluetooth 4.2 vs Killer 1535 802.11ac 2x2 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.1

If you want a wireless card that works, get the Intel AC 8265

    Read this please:
Just upgraded to an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265

I agree go with the Intel 8265, the difference between the 8260 vs 8265 is that 8265 is the latest card from Intel and therefore will have all of the latest features.

The Killer Wireless cards work well when they actually work and typically have a longer range and stronger connection than Intel when they work properly. However, currently there are many issues with Windows 10 and the new anniversary updates with the killer wireless cards. I would say until this issue is corrected stay with going with a Intel Wireless card.

Also note, the Intel AC 8265 supports MU-MIMO technology and Bluetooth 4.2

Most of the problems with the Killer card come from the "Enable Advanced Stream Detect" option in the drivers. Disable that, and everything should work fine.

That being said, I'd still pick the Intel card if given the choice.

Good to know! Thanks for the info. Do you have any other information that has been useful in troubleshooting Killer cards?

Not really. The Bluetooth works fantastically with my headphones and Xbox One controller, which is more than I can say for older Modules I've used.

But why buy a Killer card if you're going to turn its primary feature off?

The Killer was the default choice at time of purchase, and I didn't feel like paying extra for the Intel card, especially since most of the time my machine is connected via Ethernet. If Advance Stream Detect is supposed to be a selling point, then Rivet Networks needs to fire its engineering and marketing departments and start over.

    Indeed! Can't say it better

Also, @Mr.Koala main selling point of the Killer card is that the Wifi connection is more stable which it is in my case... My Intel wifi cards were never as stable!!
