I have an Dell Inspiron 6000 with an Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG wireless adapter. It cannot, and will not connect, even with the new 12.4.4 drivers [Intel] to my wireless, unsecured network. It just keeps saying 'acquiring network address' and never stops. Help!

Don't use Intel app that manages wireless connections- let Windows do it.
Also make sure that MAC filtering is not enabled on the router and that static IPs are not enabled on the laptop while DHCP is active on the router.
