    Hi all,

What's the different between those 2 client? I'm asking this because most of the time I can't connect to my D-Link 504UP wireless router when using intel PROSet but if using Windows XP built-in client it connect without any problem. I'm using Dell XPS M1210 with intel 3945abg adapter. The problem started after I upgraded the router firmware. I noticed that the new firmware change the encryption from WPA-PSK with TKIP to WPA-PSK with AES and I don't have the option to select TKIP after the upgrade. Intel client seem to have problem connecting to this router with this encryption type but it's kind of odd that windows client have no problem using it  . I''ve tried the latest software downloaded from dell as well as intel itself but the problem still there.

I decided to uninstall intel software and use windows due to this problem. So, any different between those 2? Any performance drop or anything?

    Thanks.

The Intel utility uses a lot of memory,it does have heavier load on the CPU,and the Windows utility works find for a lot of people (the Intel utility seams to have some kind of memory leak-or so i have heard/read-meaning that the program does not release all the memory it has taken for a certain task after the end of the task)

Thanks mujtaba! I didn't notice that but maybe I've never check the cpu usage and memory usage during my wireless session. How about connection performance? Any different? Well, I expect the manufacturer of the adapter must have the best software for it but maybe this is not the case with intel. :(
