Happy lazy Sunday, all (no...no Chronic-what-cles of Narnia today :D )

Not sure if this needs to go in the Dell forum or here, so appologies in advance if I'm not in the right place.

Trying to config a replacement rig for my aging Inspiron 8500, I'd love to get it w/ built in wireless, but I can't figure out what exactly is the difference between the Intel PRO/Wireless 3954 (a/g/b) and the Dell 1490 mini-PCI card. Since Dell doesn't list the Intel as a mini-PCI card, can I assume that its integrated w/ the motherboard?

Also, seeing as I live in Japan & will be buying this thing from Dell Japan, but probably moving back to the US in a few years, is there anything that I need to be aware of as far as differences in the frequencies/channels used between US & Japanese 802.11 a/g/b?

    Thanks in advance,

    HH ;)
