Is it worth the $20 upgrade to get my laptop equipped with the Intel PRO/Wireless 5300 option vs. the standard 5100 option?

Is the 5000 series PRO/wireless the best consumer wireless option available now (i.e. should I avoid other wireless hardware)?

I assume the 5300 is spec wise a bit better (3x3 antennae vs. 1x2), but in practice does it provide noticeably faster data exchange at the same distance?

I am a soon to be first time wireless laptop owner and I am not familiar with the nuances of wireless hardware/performance.

I would, there are a lot of problems with the 5100. Connection issues dropping. If you do a search you will find them.

We just recently bought 2 T-400's. The first with the 5100, haven't got good N speeds. The second with a 5300, connects at N speeds all the time.
