    Hi,

I'm having a network problem with my T410, and I'm trying to figure out where the issue is. As such, I want to try swapping out the wi-fi card to see whether or not that's an issue. I've read that Lenovo has the BIOS set up so that only specific wifi adapters will work. Specifically, the part I need has FRU # 60Y3231. Do all Intel 6200 adapters have the same FRU#?

I have found the part on ebay and on Amazon, but I want to buy this one in particular Amazon.com: Intel 6200 IEEE 2.4GHZ-5GHZ 802.11n (draft) Wi-Fi Adapter - Mini PCI Express - 300Mbps: Electronics because of the Prime (free 2-day shipping). I'm curious as to whether it would still be compatible; any ideas?

    Thanks!

Most likely not- adapters meant for Lenovo are an exception and therefore are always clearly described as meant for Lenovo.
It's not that BIOS locks out all but certain devices- there's something different in a card itself (possibly several pins used for different signals)

Anyway- don't buy anything that doesn't clearly state it's for Lenovo.
