    Hello gang!

Do you guys know if I can hook this card to a wireless router (N) through the wifi module, but at the same time to have an ad-hoc connection through its wimax module with another computer?

    Thanks!

WiMax and WiFi do not work at the same time, not with the 5350 anyway.
Additionally, the miniPCIe slot in which the 5350 is inserted must have the USB pins connected. Otherwise, the driver for the wimax module will not be installed and the software will keep reporting "Wimax not ready".

Is there a link on how to connect the USB pins?

Can these cards be moded? I picked one up that seems to start up but the intel connection utility show the manufacturer model and mac to be bogus. the mac is 1a:2b:3C:4d. This card has been messed with, or is a test card. Whatever, I was wondering if there are flash utilities for them.

We all bought these cards as ES cards. No wonder they dont work. Mine is recognized as a 5350 wifi card (the wifi works perfect) and as a Intel Connection 2400 (which Im thinking is the wimax part for which i cannot install a driver)

It seems we have to wait anyway for a card that can operate as wifi and wimax at the same time. All I wanted to do was a wifi to my router for internet, and a wimax adhoc with a friend, 1km away from me.

No, it is not going to be possible to create an ad-hoc wimax network no matter ho long you wait. You NEED to have license from the FCC, so there is no way any wireless card you buy is going to have that functionality. Also this is assuming that two cards can communicate at long distances without a base station, which I'm not sure if they can.

You need to be careful about getting an ES or not. Though many people use ES cards without a hitch. I lucked out when I bought mine on ebay from a seller that looked like he was selling non-ES cards and it turned out to be spot on.
