    Intel 5100 Wifi Netw5v64 BSOD

    Hi, I just got my SXPS 1640 not long ago and its equipped with intel 5100. Lately I've been getting this bsod in vista and I upgraded to win 7, still I'm getting this bsod ! I already updated to the latest Intel driver which is 13.0.107. Any one has this freaking problem ?

    What makes you believe that this card was causing BSOD on your comp? Error codes and messages?

    I have a new HP DV3 with Intel 5100 and same issue. I've been researching it on the internet and it seems to be quite broad based and I have not seen a solution. Some who have really spent time debugging it agree that reinstalling the driver doesn't help - I'm pretty frustrated. I have the latest driver anyway. Thing is though, for me it had stopped for like 2 months and is now starting again and I have disabled windows updates. Any insight appreciated.

    I have a 2008 Sony Viao with the Intel 5100 card and it must be the hardware.
    SAME PROBLEM!!!



    many updates to the card drivers, does not help.
    I've read many times that setting power off options to not power down, reinstalling the OS, uninstalling virus software, etc all does not help.

    Now you are telling us upgrade to Win7 does not help.

    I've given up on this card; searching for 64bit USB 802.11n wifi adapters but have not found one that I can use on 64bit machine yet.

    Tried the tiny buffalo adapter, it is supposed to work if you install the RAlink 64 bit driver (buffalo does not offer a 64 bit driver) and it never worked for me. I got part way there but it looks to me like this card is a nose dive failure for 64 bit machines, at least mine. Other's have reported success.

    From what I can tell it's the hardware, it's a POS and it's never going to get better; using a wire right now, someday I'll replace it with a USB N adapter. When I use a wire, problems go away at least!

    Not that hard to diagnose but hours and hours spend trying to fix... thanks INTEL, your wifi cards are crap.

    We should get aobut 1000 people together and sue their lame ace for producing such absolute unreliable stuff.

    It's definitely the card problem. Perhaps a driver could fix it. Let's just wait. Though the BSOD is not that often. I read somewhere, if you turn off the 802.11n in settings, you wouldn't get it anymore.

    very interesting, cause yesterday it was the first time i got a bsod in win 7 and that was the exact issue. never got a bsod since i bought my laptop.
