Just got a new Dell M1530, and had them put in the Intell 4965AGN MiniPCI Express card.

    I have a TRENDnet TEW-637AP 300Mbps Wireless Easy-N-Upgrader access point that is G/N capable.

I cannot connect to the access point with this Intel card with 11n, only with 11G.

I've tried everything, but no bueno.

Based on how the troubleshooting went, I believe it i a compatibility problem, not something that can be taken care of with the right settings.

I'm thinking if I go with a better Access Point, like the DLink DAP-1522, I should be ok.

Anybody familiar with this particular TrendNet AP?

Or should I get the GigaByte GN-WI06N ? Reviews about that card's compatibility seem really solid.

    Thanks!

This is the problem with 802.11-draft-N...compatibility is NOT guaranteed. At best, it is a crapshoot and you'll probably get lucky.

Have you selected the appropriated parameters (e.g. wireless mode) in the advanced tab of the adapter?

I don't know much about this subject except this: I was ready to purchase the Panasonic CF-52 that has the Intel 4965 AGN. However, further reading on the specs only lists A,B & G for wireless. I telephoned Panasonic support and they stated that even though the computer has the 4965 AGN, the notebook doesn't support Draft N. A few members mentioned that you probably just need to update the driver, but Panasonic doesn't think so. So I guess there is more to this issue than just having the Intel 4965 AGN.

I know that some OEM's modify the drivers to work with their mobo so I kind of believe what Panasonic is claiming. Furthermore they must know what they are saying, I hope so :)
